Mixed benzol - Introduction

Open Data Unverified Data

Motor benzol, also known as crude benzene, is a petroleum-derived mixture primarily composed of benzene and toluene. It is commonly used as an industrial raw material for the production of chemical products such as plastics, synthetic fibers, and paints. Crude benzene is also used as a solvent and cleaning agent. In some cases, it is referred to as "motor benzol" or "automobile benzene".

Crude benzene has various applications, but its usage is restricted due to its harmful effects, particularly the hazards it poses to the environment and human health. Therefore, when handling and using crude benzene, proper safety measures must be taken to avoid environmental pollution and health risks.

Properties: Crude benzene is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent odor. It is a flammable and explosive organic solvent that can form explosive mixtures with air. Crude benzene is highly toxic, and prolonged exposure or high concentration contact can lead to neurological toxicity and other health issues.

Uses: Crude benzene is primarily used in industrial manufacturing as a raw material for organic synthesis. It is widely used in the production of chemicals such as plastics, synthetic fibers, rubber, dyes, and paints. Additionally, it is used as a cleaning agent, solvent, and gasoline additive.

Production: Crude benzene is mainly obtained through distillation fractionation during the petroleum refining process. In refineries, benzene and toluene are extracted and purified from naphtha through processes such as distillation or extraction, resulting in crude benzene.

Safety: Crude benzene is highly toxic and flammable, so strict adherence to safety procedures is essential when handling and using it. Operators should wear protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and a respirator. Crude benzene should not come into direct contact with the skin or be inhaled, and it should be kept away from open flames and high temperatures, stored in well-ventilated areas. Prolonged or high-concentration exposure may have serious health effects on the human body, so careful handling and storage are necessary.

Mixed benzol - Uses and synthesis methods

Products and Specifications

The crude benzene yield is related to the quality of the coal in the furnace, the coking temperature and the top space temperature of the coke oven: it increases with the increase of the volatile fraction of the coal in the furnace, and decreases with the increase of the coking temperature and the top space temperature. Generally, the yield of crude benzene is 0.9-1.1%. There are two main indicators for the technical requirements of crude benzene products: one is moisture, which requires visual inspection of no visible insoluble water at room temperature; the other is the pre-distillation amount of 180 ℃ when the crude benzene product is tested for the distillation range; crude benzene products are divided into solvent crude benzene and refined crude benzene; the solvent crude benzene requires a pre-distillation amount of more than 91% at 180 ℃, crude benzene for refining (see crude benzene refining) requires a distillation amount of more than 93% before 180 ℃.

Composition

The main components of crude benzene are aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, xylene and trimethylbenzene. In addition, it also contains unsaturated compounds, sulfur-containing compounds, aliphatic hydrocarbons, naphthalene, phenols and pyridine compounds.
